Hungarian Bars

Ingredient:
1 c butter
softened
c sugar
1 whole egg
2 c flour
2 c chopped walnuts
c sugar
1 whole egg

Description:
Preheat to 325°F

• Grease jelly roll pan, 15 ½” x 10 ½” x 1”
• Mix butter, ½ cup sugar and the whole egg thoroughly.
• Blend in flour.
• Press evenly into pan. Bake 15 minutes.
• Mix walnuts, 1 cup sugar, the cinnamon and egg whites in 2 qt. sauce pan. Heat to boiling, stirring constantly.
• Spread over hot crust. Bake until topping appears dry, about 20 minutes at 325°F.
• Cool slightly; cut into bars, about 3” x 1”. 50 cookies.
